Carlos: Hi!

In unserem Webzine konnte „Embedded in the Ossuary“ 7 von 10 Punkte abstauben!

Was sind eure Pläne?

English Version:

Malte H.: Hi there, how are you? Please introduce yourself and your band to our readers.

Carlos: Hi! I’m Carlos, guitarist of Morbid Flesh. The other band members are Gusi (guitar), Makeda (bass), Michel (drums) and Vali (vocals).

Malte H.: You’ve released your new EP “Embedded in the Ossuary” this year. It’s a beast, congratulations! Are you satisfied with the result?

Carlos: Thanks for your words! Well, we recorded it almost two years ago, and it was released in early 2014, so it’s a bit far away already. The EP is what we wanted at that time, so we are satisfied with it!

Malte H.: Tells us something about the band’s music and your influences especially on the new EP.

Carlos: As anyone can notice we are influenced mainly by the classical Swedish, British, German or American Death Metal bands. Anyway, I think you can perceive other influences since we listen to a lot of music. Even so, while composing we’re not trying to emulate anyone directly.

Malte H.: What are the main differences between your first album and the new EP?

Carlos: The only impartial aspect I can tell you is that the line-up changed from the LP to our last EP. The subjective issues should be for the listener to decide, shouldn’t they?

Malte H.: After this dark and old school work… can we expect a new full-length soon?

Carlos: Probably not. We’re working on new songs, and I don’t know what we are going to do with them. Since we’re not basing them in a particular concept, if you get my point, they probably are going to end up in singles or split albums. But only time will tell!

Malte H.: And what’s about the reactions of the press so far? In our webzine, “Embedded in the Ossuary” earned 7 out of 10 points!

Carlos: As far as I know all reviews have been positive. It’s great, of course, but on the other hand I play this music for myself and if I’m satisfied with the songs it’s OK for me.

Malte H.: The EP was released by my dear friend Walter of Unholy Prophecies. How come that you released the EP on his young label? He also has Spanish beast Insulters on this label where Makeda and Gusi are playing… An accident?

Carlos: Actually we kept in touch with them because of his relationship with INSULTERS. Unholy Prophecies has done an amazing job spreading our music, and Walter probably will release the EP in vinyl version soon.

Malte H.: You’ve toured through Germany and Belgium this year and you also visited East Frisia and played the Dark Season Fest in Moormerland. Unfortunately I couldn’t come. What were your impressions of my home region and the metalheads here?

Carlos: The venue freaked me out because it was a huge house with a big stage in the middle of the countryside. People were nice there, and they gave us some of that Mexicana poison you guys drink!

Malte H.: And what are the impressions of the whole tour? Was it a success?

Carlos: I don’t know what your definition of success is, but we had a really good time playing over there. Things are really different in Germany compared to Spain. I would like to thank again the people that made it possible, especially Walter from our label, the people and bands from Leipzig and Andreas from Brussels.

Malte H.: Any funny moments of the tour you want to share with us?

Carlos: Of course there are a few shitty stories, mostly because of the boredom of time out and driving hours, but these aren’t the kind of stories I would share in public, ha ha. No one played Lana del Rey at dawn in Leipzig, but shit happens.

Malte H.: What’s about the other side-projects of the members like Graveyard, Insulters and Agonised, the solo-project of Gusi. Any news?

Carlos: The AGONISED tapes are almost sold-out, but I think you still can find it in a few distros. It’s a must for MORGOTH and ASPHYX fans. I think INSULTERS are working on new noisy stuff. Same with GRAVEYARD, plus they are going to kick some asses around Europe this summer. The other band of our drummer Michel, TORT, is going to release a great full length soon. It’s online in streaming at http://tort.bandcamp.com.

Malte H.: What will the future bring for Morbid Flesh? What are your plans?

Carlos: As I told you we’re working on new songs, and we have no gigs in the near future.

Malte H.: Thank you for your time! The last words are yours.

Carlos: Thanks for the interview and sorry again for the delay!
